Today is #CutTheCordDay — enter to win a Series 4 TV and Mohu Blade antenna!

Actually, they're giving away a hundred cord-cutting bundles!

July 7 is National Cut the Cord Day. And if you're reading this, one of two things has happened: Either you've already cut the cord, which is awesome, or you're thinking about cutting the cord, which is even more awesome. As always, though, the question remains where to start. First, you need a good TV. And second, you need a good over-the-air antenna.

And as such, TCL (maker of really good TVs), and Mohu (maker of really good antennas) are teaming up to give away a 55-inch Series 4 TCL Roku television, along with Mohu's new Blade antenna. The former is a smart TV that uses Roku's operating system, so you can watch pretty much anything through pretty much every every streaming service without having to connect any other sort of set-top box. And the latter is an over-the-air antenna that plucks those sweet free broadcasts out of the air and puts 'em on your television. And it does so whether it's mounted indoors or outdoors. (And it looks good doing it.)

Winners will be announced July 9. Hit up the link below for full details on the contest! (Note: This contest is from TCL and Mohu — we're just letting you know about it!)

FuboTV may be your best option for watching the World Cup finals

FuboTV is streaming the World Cup Finals in 4K resolution on pretty much every platform. And it has a free seven-day trial . It's available on Chromecast, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV and Roku — with a free trial. Admittedly, streaming video can still be a bit of a crapshoot. Do you have the right hardware? Do you have the right service? Do you have a good enough internet connection? Will your home network hiccup? And just how good is the source video in the first place? Is it compressed to within an inch of its life? Is 4K resolution eschewed for something lesser? Streaming the World Cup in 4K resolution has been excellent, even when your team loses. It is — or at least it can be — a mess. But we've had a beacon of hope during the latter stages of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. (The men's edition, anyway; the women play in two more years.) FuboTV — one of the lesser-known but extremely sports-friendly streaming services —  is showing all of the remaining games in 4K...

Samsung forecasts dip in Q2 2018 profits following weak smartphone sales

Samsung is still making boatloads of money, but profits don't quite match up to previous quarters. Samsung announced record earnings for four straight quarters, but that streak is about to come to an end. In its Q2 2018 earnings guidance , Samsung is forecasting an operating profit of $13.2 billion (14.8 trillion won), up 5% from the same period a year ago. Overall revenue at $51.7 billion (58 trillion won) is less than the $54.8 billion the company raked in last year. To put things into context, Samsung made a profit of $14.6 billion on revenues of $56.5 billion last quarter . As noted by The Wall Street Journal , Samsung's profits over the course of the last year were bouyed by strong perfromance by the manufacturer's semiconductor division, which overtook Intel last year. Samsung may not be able to maintain its edge in this category, however, as NAND and DRAM module prices are expected to fall by up to 15%. Slow sales of the Galaxy S9 series is attributed as a r...

We can stay up from dawn till dusk and we will never run out of YouTube videos to watch, but what do you do when you have to stray from your faithful Wi-Fi? What do you do when you're going to be out in the countryside with spotty data — or even worse, on a Wi-Fi-less plane? You download some YouTube videos for offline playback, of course. Downloading YouTube videos to watch offline can save you oodles of data if you have the presence of mind to download while you're on good Wi-Fi, and in areas where data connections can be spotty as best, offline might be the only real way to watch YouTube. Here's how — and who — can download videos in YouTube for offline playback. Who can download videos to play offline How to download a video to play offline How to download a playlist to play offline How to change your download video quality How to schedule offline downloads for Wi-Fi Who can dow...
